Intolerance and oppression of others seems to be a global behavioural pandemic on planet Earth. Why can’t people accept differences in cultures and tribal customs, differences in religious and political beliefs? Likely because the “believers” want everyone to subscribe to what they believe, no exceptions.
Why is it necessary to oppress others? Is it the ego’s relentless need to be right and control everyone so it feels safe? Or is it just about having power at any cost? What if the global population all made a decision that they could participate in any belief system they wanted to as long as those beliefs did not harm or oppress others, and second, that they could not force their beliefs on those who did not subscribe to them.
Imagine a world where those two rules were strictly observed? And what if we could all move freely across borders in order to find and live with like-minded souls? Live and let live. I think that could be a recipe for peace. And where there is peace, there is prosperity.
As John Lennon said: “Imagine there’s no countries, it isn’t hard to do. Nothing to kill or die for, and no religion too. Imagine all the people living life in peace…”
I want to believe that world peace isn’t just a dream…
